People drive business. It is essential that we help create the correct environment to achieve maximum effectiveness and productivity.   Jane Keogh from Aqanta introduces DiSC Profiling and how this has helped a large manufacturing company improve its team dynamics.
Contrary to popular belief, people do not want to be treated the same as everyone else because everyone is different! People have different goals, fears, motivations and ways of seeing the world.
Understanding the importance of identifying the different styles of behaviour within the workplace is the starting point to achieving enhanced communication for more motivated, driven and focused teams.
So whatever the people challenge, Everything DiSC® has a programme/module to meet the specific requirements of companies. Training can be implemented individually, for a group of senior managers, or for a team of people.
The following are current topics which have been covered using Everything DiSC® solutions:
Enhanced communication
Team Development & Effectiveness
Conflict resolution
Sales Performance
Management/leadership Skills
General Workplace
Recent real life scenario:
A team within a large manufacturing company had a problem between two members of the department, one of whom was the manager. This was having a diverse effective on morale and productivity. One member of the team perceived the manager to be aggressive to the point of border line bullying.
Using the DiSC model they were able to get an understanding of themselves, they learnt how they each tend to respond to one another and in particular to conflict situation and it allowed them to value and appreciate the differences between them. They identified their strengths, how they might overuse them and that the strengths of their colleagues in fact complemented their own. They were also able to develop strategies to flex and adapt their behaviour for improved communication and results especially when they are under pressure and most likely to demonstrate changes in their behaviour. The team also understood that the manager ‘s role was to lead them to achieve targeted deadlines and accepted that she may have to ‘up’ the pace and sense of urgency and that this is behaviour based on a situation.
The training has resulted in a more functional team, with an understanding of their own roles and those of others. The conflict situation was resolved to everyone’s satisfaction. And they recognized that they now had the tools to communicate more effectively to avoid future misunderstandings.
